The EX800-Series insertion electromagnetic flowmeters are designed for use with conductive liquids in 1 to 12” pipe. A choice of materials (stainless steel, brass, and PVC) allows the meter to adapt to a range of temperature, pressure, and corrosive environments.

The EX800-Series has a currentsinking pulse output that can be combined with the appropriate transmitter or indicator for the application. For basic rate/total and pulse output, the FT430 is best. For analog output and display of rate and total, the FT440 can be used. Blind analog output is provided by the AO55. The PD10 can be used to divide the pulse for pacing chemical metering pumps. Electronic modules can be wall- or meter- mounted. (Note: PD10 available only as wall-mounted unit.) If the EX800 meter is used with a programmable controller, the output signal can be fed direct, with no other conditioning required.

The EX100/200-Series are adjustable depth insertion magmeters that fit 3” to 48” pipe (up to 72” optional). The complete lack of moving parts of the EX100/200-Series is the source of its reliability. Brass and stainless steel models withstand a variety of temperature, pressure, and chemical conditions. The EX-Series has no rotor to stop turning in dirty water and there are no bearings to wear out. Like all magmeters, when used in chemical injection applications, these meters should be installed upstream of the chemical line (or far enough downstream to allow complete mixing of fluids before the meter). Adapters mate with standard 1-1/2” (11x/21x) or 2” (15x/25x) FNPT threaded fittings such as saddles and weldolets which may be purchased either locally or from Seametrics.

The “Hot-Tap” models (EX15x/25x) can be installed or serviced without shutting down the line by means of a 2” full-port isolation valve that comes with a nipple for installation on the pipe fitting; a bronze ball valve is standard, with a 316 stainless steel val

Measures Velocity and Level with an Ultrasonic Sensor

Monitor flow through open channels, partially full sewer pipes and surcharged pipes without a flume or weir. Ideal for municipal stormwater, combined effluent, raw sewage and irrigation water.

The AVFM 5.0 uses a submerged ultrasonic sensor to continuously measure both Velocity and Level in the channel. The sensor resists fouling, corrosion and abrasion. The flowmeter can be configured with the standard submerged velocity-level sensor, or with submerged velocity plus a separate non-contacting ultrasonic level sensor.

View flow rate and total flow on the large backlit LCD display and connect to external devices with three 4-20mA outputs and two control relays.

Easy to Use

The AVFM 5.0 Area-Velocity Flow Meter measures both Level and Velocity to calculate flow in an open channel or pipe. Calibration is simple: enter the pipe diameter or channel dimensions and the AVFM 5.0 automatically computes and displays flow volume.

The ultrasonic sensor mounts inside the pipe or on the bottom of a channel with a stainless steel mounting bracket (included) and a single screw into the bottom of the pipe or channel. No special compounds, tools or hardware are required. The sensor is completely sealed with no orifices or ports.

Recommended Pipe or Channel Conditions

Careful selection of sensor mounting location results in best performance and maintenance-free operation. Avoid locations where sediment builds up.

Best possible accuracy will result when the water is not highly turbulent and where velocity is evenly distributed across the channel. The channel should not have drops or direction changes immediately upstream of the sensor mounting location. Pipe or channel slope should not exceed 3%.

The AVFM 5.0 can measure forward flow velocity up to 20 ft/sec (6 m/sec) and reverse flow up to 5 ft/sec (1.5 m/sec). The electronics and software sample and average flow rates continuously to provide stable readings. The submerged velocity/level sensor will measure flow in partially full and surcharged pipes with pressure up to 10 psi. No special set-up or adjustment is required. Minimum recommended pipe diameter is 6” (150 mm).

The Sonic-Pro Flow Meters can measure fluid flow in virtually any fluid in which sound waves can travel.  The Ultrasonic Flow Meters are considered "hybrid" because they can measure fluid flow using either the Doppler or Transit Time methods.  The Sonic-Pro ultrasonic flow meter's sound transducers are clamped to the outside of the pipe wall and include no moving parts.  This method of flow measurement is safe, non-intrusive and very easy to service.
