RGAI-70 Rain Gauge Pulse to Analog Converter

from $75.00
Item:

Brand: NOVALYNX

Lead-Time: This product ships in 3 - 5 days from time of order - Choose your converter with or without enclosure

The RGAI-70 Rain Gauge Interface converts the signal from a tipping bucket rain gauge into a 4-20 mA current loop signal, ideal for input to a PLC or SCADA system. Each tip of the rain gauge bucket causes the output signal to increase 1% of full scale. Full scale represents 100 tips of the bucket.

This pulse to 4 - 20 mA signal converter can be used with any tipping bucket gauge that has a dry contact output. The calibration of the gauge can be inches or millimeters. A common calibration unit is 0.01" of rainfall per tip of the bucket. In this case, the full scale output (20mA) represents 1 inch of rain. The output remains constant at the end of each tip until the next tip occurs.

Highlights

  • +/- 1% Accuracy

  • 4-20 mA Loop Powered

  • 12-24 Vdc Input

  • NEMA Enclosure

  • Rain Detector Mode (4mA = no rain, 20mA = rain detected)

Why Convert Rain Gauge Pulse Outputs to 4–20 mA?

Many industrial PLC and SCADA systems do not directly accept pulse inputs from tipping bucket rain gauges. The RGAI-70 simplifies integration by converting rainfall pulses into a standardized 4–20 mA analog signal commonly used in industrial automation and remote telemetry systems.
