Additional Information
The Sommer SQ-ATEX is a non-contact radar flow monitoring system for water and wastewater applications in explosive atmospheres. It measures water level and surface velocity, then uses a hydraulic model to calculate mean velocity, wetted cross-sectional area, and flow rate.
By keeping the sensor above the water, the system reduces exposure to contamination and damage associated with immersed equipment. Integrated self-check functions provide status and error information, while velocity spectrum diagnostics help users assess measurement performance.
The system includes a separate controller and ATEX safety barriers. Controller outputs include Modbus RTU over RS-485, SDI-12, three 4–20 mA channels for level, velocity, and flow, and a volume-based pulse output.
