Product Description
The Seametrics TURBO turbidity sensor is a rugged, self-cleaning instrument engineered for continuous turbidity and temperature monitoring in demanding field environments. With an integrated data logger and compatibility with Aqua4Plus software, users can easily configure sampling intervals, collect real-time measurements, and export data for analysis and reporting.
Designed for flexibility, the TURBO is available in multiple measurement ranges (0–400 NTU and 0–3000 NTU), making it suitable for a wide range of applications—from clean water monitoring to high-turbidity wastewater and runoff conditions. Its non-volatile memory stores more than 250,000 time- and date-stamped records, ensuring data integrity even in remote deployments.
With Modbus, SDI-12, and RS485 communication outputs, the TURBO turbidity sensor integrates seamlessly with SCADA systems, PLCs, data loggers, and telemetry platforms, enabling reliable remote monitoring and process control.
What is turbidity?
It is the measure of relative clarity of a liquid. It is an optical characteristic of water and is a measurement of the amount of light that is scattered by material in the water when a light is shined through the water sample. The higher the intensity of scattered light, the higher the turbidity. Material that causes water to be turbid include clay, silt, very tiny inorganic and organic matter, algae, dissolved colored organic compounds, and plankton and other microscopic organisms.
Applications - This turbidity sensor is ideal for:
Surface water and watershed monitoring
Groundwater and well monitoring
Wastewater and effluent monitoring
Stormwater and agricultural runoff studies
Aquaculture and environmental research
Remediation and site assessment projects
Dredging
Integration & System Compatibility
The Seametrics TURBO turbidity sensor is designed for easy integration into existing monitoring systems. With standard digital communication protocols, it can be connected to SCADA systems, PLCs, and remote telemetry solutions for real-time data acquisition, alarm management, and process optimization.
