The 260-2510 Standard Rain and Snow Gauge provides reliable manual measurement of both liquid precipitation and snowfall. Its durable, all-aluminum construction offers a total rainfall capacity of 20 inches and is suitable for long-term monitoring.

Rain entering the precision-edged funnel is directed into an inner measuring receiver. The gauge uses a 10:1 collection ratio, meaning 1 inch of rainfall produces a 10-inch water depth in the receiver for easier, more precise readings. The receiver measures up to 2 inches of rainfall. Additional precipitation flows into the outer chamber, where it can be measured separately after the receiver has been emptied. Measurements can be read to 0.01 inch or 0.4 mm.

For snowfall measurement, the funnel and inner receiver are removed, allowing snow to collect directly in the outer can. The collected snow is then melted and measured using the receiver and included dipstick. A black G-10 fiberglass epoxy measuring stick with English and metric graduations is supplied with the gauge. An optional tripod support is also available.
